Best wishes. Let’s go!

Best wishes to you on your upcoming nuptials.
And, to those already experiencing wedded bliss, a big welcome to you as well.

I hope you’re ready for a deep dive into everything from the creation of your wedding registry to what to do with all those gifts once they’re unpacked.

So, let’s get started. Introducing…
Our Newlywed Kitchen—The Blog

ONK—The Blog will tackle topics you’ll face before your wedding—like building your perfect registry and tips on picking out china (or not picking out china).

I’ll cover the essential tools you’ll need once you’ve set up your kitchen and introduce some quick and easy recipes you guys will create together. I hope to inspire and motivate you to host dinner parties for friends and family and remind you to dim the lights and light those candles for intimate dinners for two.

I can’t wait to share the secrets your kitchen holds. Within it, you can find a sense of togetherness, open dialogue, and a bond that will bring you closer to one another. A kitchen is for sharing, gathering, and loving well.

So that’s my heart, but I also think this is a good place to share a little about me, sort of a get-to-know-the-person-offering-advice opportunity.

A Little About Laura

So, here goes:

I make sandwiches pretty by cutting them on the diagonal while making big messes in my kitchen.

I love taking care of people, and I’m a pretty good cook. I cook for the “yummmm.”

I’m a seven on the Enneagram and finally figured out why my life will never slow down—I’m the one making the plans!

I’m happiest when gathering people together—the more the merrier.

My energy comes from planning the next event, and there’s something special about bringing others together and playing a part in their fun.

I turned my pantry into a china closet because I couldn’t part with the treasured sets of heirloom hand-me-downs—eight sets and growing.

Fun to me is creating spaces where others feel included, nourished, and restored.

I see the table as a canvas, and I love to trek outside searching for natural elements to incorporate into the mix like flowers, buds, and branches.

I’m a storyteller by nature with the heart of a teacher.  Just don’t mess with my Nana’s Stuffed Bell Pepper recipe…but that’s a story for another day. 😉

And, I believe we live life in ordinary times, but through shared experiences that are created in the kitchen, we make them extraordinary.

I’m thrilled you’re here. Let’s keep sharing!

Hugs out! Laura
